Prabhas’ sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD has set the box office on fire, becoming the highest-grossing Indian film of 2024 in just three days. The film, which takes inspiration from Hindu mythology and blends it with a futuristic world, debuted with a staggering ₹ 95.3 crore net collection in India.

This stellar opening surpassed previous records held by films like KGF 2 and Jawan. The movie’s grand visuals, action sequences, and performances by Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh Bachchan have been credited for the initial box office boom.

However, the trend dipped slightly on weekdays. The collections dropped by 37.78% on the second day and then rose again on the weekend. The film seems to be attracting a strong opening weekend audience but may struggle to maintain the momentum during weekdays.

Overall, Kalki 2898 AD has grossed a total of ₹ 343.6 crore net in India within its first week. With its international collections added to the mix, the film has become a massive commercial success.

First Look at Green Lantern and Hawkgirl in James Gunn's Superman

The first set photos of Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern and Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl in James Gunn’s upcoming Superman movie have been revealed. The photos, taken during filming in Cleveland, show both characters in action alongside David Corenswet’s Superman and Edi Gathegi’s Mister Terrific.

Isabela Merced’s Hawkgirl costume is quite faithful to the comic book design, featuring the bird motif and the yellow-and-black color scheme. She is seen holding a mace, a signature weapon for Hawkgirl. However, her iconic wings will be added through CGI in post-production

Nathan Fillion’s Green Lantern, Guy Gardner, presents a more surprising look. Instead of the classic green suit, he wears a predominantly white outfit with green accents and a leather jacket featuring the LordTech logo. This departure from the traditional Green Lantern attire suggests a different narrative approach for the character, possibly indicating his role as more of an independent player rather than a typical member of the Green Lantern Corps (GeekTyrant).

The set photos provide an exciting glimpse into the new characters, with fans eagerly awaiting more official reveals and the final visual effects. Superman, directed by James Gunn, is set to hit theaters on July 11, 2025 .
