James Gunn has officially announced the end of filming for his highly anticipated Superman movie. The DC Studios co-head shared an emotional post on Instagram, expressing gratitude to the cast and crew for their hard work on the project.

The film marks the beginning of a new era for the DC Universe under Gunn and Peter Safran’s leadership. The duo unveiled their ambitious plans for the franchise at Comic-Con, generating immense excitement among fans. While Gunn was unable to attend due to the Superman shoot, Safran confirmed that principal photography had wrapped.

Gunn described the filmmaking journey as a mix of challenges, laughter, and creativity. The director expressed his aim to portray Superman as a “good man in a world that isn’t always so much,” and the positive atmosphere on set had deeply inspired him.

With filming complete, anticipation for the new Superman is at an all-time high. Fans can expect to see the Man of Steel take flight in theaters on July 11, 2025.
